UNODC Roadmap on the Treatment of Children Associated with Terrorist and Extremist Groups highlighted at African Regional Conference
Nairobi (Kenya), 19 July 2019 - The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime organised a side event on Children Associated with Terrorism and Violent Extremist Groups atthe African Regional High-Level Conference on 'Counter-Terrorism and the Prevention of Violent Extremism Conducive to Terrorism'. UNODC used the opportunity to present its Roadmap on the Treatment of Children Associated with Terrorist and Violent Extremist Groups and contextualise it to the region.

Organised crime syndicates are targeting Southeast Asia to expand operations: UNODC
Bangkok (Thailand), 18 July 2019 - Profits generated by organized crime groups in Southeast Asia have reached unprecedented and even dangerous levels according to a new report released today by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime. The study, "Transnational Organized Crime in Southeast Asia: Evolution, Growth and Impact", is the most comprehensive study of organized crime in Southeast Asia by the UN in over five years.

UNODC-WCO Container Control Programme reaches 300 metric tons of cocaine seized globally
17 July 2019 - Every year, more than 750 million container movements take place around the globe by sea, transporting 90 per cent of the world's cargo. Most containers carry legal merchandise, but some are being used to smuggle drugs, weapons, and other illicit goods. This month the UNODC-WCO Container Control Programme exceeded the threshold of 300 metric tons of cocaine seized since the launch of the programme in 2004.
